They are very cheerful dogs and make the perfect companion animal. They are an obedient, loving, lively and playful dog that forms strong bond with its family. They love to be petted and cuddled by the family and enjoy the attention given to them. But they are not clingy dogs and can spend time on their own without making a fuss. They can keep themselves entertained with their toys for prolonged periods. So it is always good to have a good assortment of toys for them to play with.
These are very silent dogs and they are very well suited for an apartment lifestyle. They are medium energy dogs and most of their exercise requirements are met by running around in the house and they do very well without a yard. These dogs are very alert and are wary of strangers and make very good watchdogs even though their guard dog ability is constrained by the size. Grooming, Haircuts and Shedding
They have a long, thick and silky coat, which is very prone to matting. They need regular brushing which will prevent matting and also get rid of tangles. Brushing also helps to distribute the natural oils in the body As well as get rid of loose hairs. They are low shedders. They are clean breed and do not need regular bathing. Bathe them once a month if they get dirt and smelly. Hairs around the eyes and ears need to be trimmed. Ears should be cleaned at least once in two weeks. Check for any signs of ear infections. Nails should be trimmed when needed. They can suffer from halitosis so teeth should be brushed regularly.

Diet: They have very sensitive stomach so avoid canned and processed food. Ideally raw diet or balance home cooked diets are preferred. Meat in excess quantities is also not recommended.
Allergies: Can suffer from skin allergies. May be allergic to dry foods and processed foods.
Health problems: They can suffer from patellar luxation and spinal problems. They are also prone to pancreatitis and vomiting.
